MINT LAB (Wild Canadian Peppermint, Wild Labrador Tea)
Labrador tea grows in thick, knee-to waist-high banks in lowland bogs across northern Canada. Indigenous Canadians valued this strong leaf tonic as a blood purifier and treatment for rheumatism. Further north they use the same infusion to combat cold symptoms as Labrador leaves are known for their abundance of vitamin C.
Wild peppermint, which is also common in moist woodlands, complements Labrador tea’s spicy bouquet. Peppermint is a great palate cleanser and it also promotes digestion. It soothes the stomach in cases of indigestion or inflammation. Peppermint is a natural stimulant and the smell alone can be enough to charge your batteries and get your brain functioning properly.
Enjoy this herbal / non-caffeinated blend of these two spectacular plants with a touch of locally produced honey for a soothing, post dinner beverage.
